At pickle ridge we take great pride hand-crafting fine rustic furniture that will add warmth and charm to any residential or commercial setting. While we specialize in furniture with a natural bark finish, we also have extensive experience in all styles of rustic carpentry, including bent willow, twig mosaic, naturally edged timber slabs, and driftwood.

Our furniture is designed to be both affordable and stylish, bringing the beauty and appeal of natural wood products into your home or business. We are a small company, with six full-time builders having expertise in all aspects of furniture making, and we focus our personal attention on your particular needs.

Our indoor furniture line is constructed mainly from red alder--an ideal wood for such purposes. Branches of suitable thickness and shape are put into our own kiln on the same day they are cut in order to ensure good bark adherence and tight joints. Thicker pieces are cut into boards of needed dimensions. Western red cedar is used for our outdoor pieces because of its superior longevity when exposed to the elements. We also work with many other woods, including hazelnut, maple, arbutus (madrona), oak, willow, dogwood, yew, yellow cedar, fir, pine, and cherry.

"i invite you to view our new indoor furniture line, which has been named in honour of some of the great rivers of the north. For me, one of the most powerful images in north american history is that of the explorers in birch bar canoes navigating the great rivers for the first time.

The explorers never knew if they would survive what was around the next bend of the river -like the peace, the mackenzie, or the fraser- that now bear their names.

These are the images i had in mind when i created the great north rivers collection--powerful, flowing, natural and adventurous. The explorer's mode of transportation was the hand-crafted, all natural, birch bark canoe which, like the log cabin, is one of the great icons of north american rustic creativity. " OEM Service:
